The Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, has rolled out a comprehensive seven-point development agenda designed to strengthen inclusive learning, innovation, and holistic education within the institution.
Unveiling the plan at the university’s main campus, Prof. Owens Ibie described the initiative as a strategic blueprint that will guide Caleb University’s academic, administrative, and developmental priorities in the coming years. He emphasized that the agenda reflects the institution’s core vision of building a globally competitive learning environment anchored on excellence, integrity, and innovation.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the seven key areas of focus include academic excellence, digital transformation, inclusive learning, research and innovation, staff and student welfare, global collaboration, and community impact.
He explained that the agenda seeks to make Caleb University a model for inclusive higher education in Nigeria by ensuring that every student regardless of background, learning style, or ability has equal access to knowledge, resources, and opportunities. “Our approach to education goes beyond academics. It is about shaping individuals who can think critically, act ethically, and lead responsibly in their communities and professions,” Prof. Owens-Ibie stated.
Highlighting the university’s achievements, the Vice Chancellor noted that Caleb University has continued to expand its academic programs, enhance digital learning facilities, and attract partnerships with international institutions and industries. He disclosed that ongoing investments in technology and staff development would further strengthen the institution’s teaching and research capabilities.
Prof. Owens-Ibie also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting moral and spiritual values alongside intellectual growth, stressing that Caleb’s holistic educational philosophy remains one of its strongest differentiating factors. “We are building not just graduates, but leaders with empathy, creativity, and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to national and global development,” he said.
He called on stakeholders including alumni, parents, industry partners, and government agencies to collaborate with the university in realizing the goals of the new agenda.
“Our collective effort is essential in creating a learning ecosystem that is inclusive, forward looking, and impactful,” the Vice Chancellor concluded, adding that the seven point plan would serve as a roadmap for Caleb University’s continued transformation and relevance in the 21st century knowledge economy.
