The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) has strongly denied recent reports alleging irregularities in its 2025/2026 admission process. The institution described the claims as completely false and intended to mislead the public and tarnish its reputation for fairness and academic integrity.
In an official statement issued by the university’s Public Relations Officer, UNN emphasized that its admission procedures remain transparent, credible, and fully compliant with the guidelines of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The university noted that all candidates are considered strictly on merit and in accordance with approved quota allocations for each department.
“UNN maintains a transparent and automated admission system that eliminates any form of favoritism or manipulation. We urge the public to disregard these false reports and continue to trust the integrity of our processes,” the statement read.
The management also advised prospective students to verify all admission-related information only through official university channels such as the school’s website and verified social media pages. According to the statement, any information shared on unofficial platforms or by individuals claiming to influence admission outcomes should be ignored.
Furthermore, the university warned applicants against falling victim to fraudulent agents or middlemen who promise admission in exchange for payment. It reiterated that no staff member or representative of UNN is authorized to collect money or favors in the name of facilitating admission.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the university’s commitment to academic excellence, transparency, and equal opportunity for all qualified candidates.
