C&S Church Marks 100 Years with Visionary Plans: University Project, CSR Initiatives, and Global Celebrations Unveiled

A century after its humble beginnings, the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church has reached a remarkable milestone 100 years of spiritual growth, cultural impact, and community service. To mark its centenary, the Church has unveiled an ambitious lineup of events, including plans for a university, expanded corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, and a series of global celebrations.

At a high-profile press briefing held in Lagos, church leaders and members of the Centenary Planning Committee detailed a year-long programme designed to celebrate the Church’s legacy while charting a course for the future. Themed “100 Years of Walking with God: The Journey Continues,” the centenary events are set to include nationwide crusades, interfaith dialogues, concerts, historical exhibitions, and an international convention that will draw followers from across the globe.

One of the most notable announcements was the proposed establishment of a C&S University, a project aimed at promoting academic excellence and faith-based education. According to church authorities, the institution will focus on moral discipline, innovation, and community development in line with the founding principles of the Church.

“We are not just celebrating 100 years of existence; we are celebrating 100 years of relevance,” said Senior Apostle General Solomon Alao, the Spiritual Head of the Church. “The launch of our university and CSR initiatives marks the beginning of our next chapter one that invests even more in the spiritual and socio-economic upliftment of our people.”

In addition to educational pursuits, the C&S Church revealed a revitalized CSR agenda, including healthcare outreach programmes, youth empowerment schemes, and support for internally displaced persons (IDPs) across Nigeria. These efforts, church leaders emphasized, are rooted in the Church’s long-standing commitment to serving beyond the pulpit.

The centenary celebrations are expected to culminate in a grand thanksgiving service later in the year, with dignitaries from across religious, political, and academic spheres expected to attend.

Founded in 1925, the C&S Church has grown from a local prayer movement in Nigeria to a global spiritual force with millions of adherents and branches across Africa, Europe, and the Americas. As the Church steps into its second century, its leadership says the focus will remain on spiritual renewal, national development, and global outreach.
