Two students of Borno State University lost their lives in a tragic road accident on Wednesday involving a school bus and a trailer. The incident, which occurred on a busy highway, also left three other students critically injured, while fifteen others are receiving medical treatment.
The school bus, carrying thirty students, was reportedly struck by a travelling trailer, causing the fatal crash. The impact of the collision instantly killed the two students, with three others suffering severe injuries. Ten of the passengers were fortunate to escape without injury.
In a statement issued by the university’s spokesman, Umar Garkuwa, the injured students were promptly transported to Umaru Shehu Hospital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) for immediate treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
