Lead City University, Ibadan, awarded various postgraduate degrees to 601 graduating students, including Olanrewaju Suleiman, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Oyo State Governor, who earned a doctorate in Mass Communication and Media Technology. He is among the 129 doctoral degree recipients at the ceremony.
Other graduates included 289 students who received master’s degrees in various fields, 139 who were awarded postgraduate diplomas, 42 who earned professional master’s degrees, and two who received Master of Philosophy degrees.
During the 17th Convocation Ceremony of 2024, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, was also conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Science in Public Administration for his contributions to Yoruba tradition.
Prof. K.A. Aderemi, the Vice-Chancellor, highlighted the significance of the awards, while Chancellor Prof. Gabriel Ogunmola urged graduates to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. He emphasized that true leadership is not about authority but the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Prof. Aderemi also acknowledged the role of families and faculty in the success of the graduates, marking the convocation as a significant milestone.
