Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the reinstatement of lecturers at Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, who were disengaged by the defunct Special Intervention Team (SIT) in March 2023.
The affected lecturers, members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at AAU, were relieved of their duties following protests over unpaid salaries and other entitlements owed to them by the previous administration.
Governor Okpebholo emphasized that his administration is committed to the principles of natural justice, equity, and good conscience, and he expressed confidence that the reinstatement would help restore fairness and ensure the well-being of the university’s staff.
