The Congress of University Academics (CONUA), University of Benin (UNIBEN) chapter, has congratulated Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie, SAN, on his inauguration as the new Vice Chancellor of the University. The academic union expressed its readiness to collaborate with Omoregie to achieve his vision for the institution.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairperson of CONUA, Comrade Ishaq Osagie-Eweka, the union praised Prof. Omoregie’s appointment as the 11th substantive Vice Chancellor of UNIBEN, describing it as a reflection of his dedication and commitment to excellence. The union also highlighted Omoregie’s strong academic background and his reputation for probity and integrity.
As the successor to Prof. Lilian Salami, whose tenure ended on November 1st, 2024, Prof. Omoregie’s appointment was welcomed with high expectations. CONUA expressed confidence in his ability to elevate the University of Benin to greater heights and reaffirmed its commitment to working with him to ensure the institution’s continued progress and uninterrupted academic calendar.
