Highstone Global University to Host International Conference on Sustainability and Governance

The forthcoming Highstone Global University (HGU) 2024 International Conference and Awards Ceremony, set to take place on December 7, 2024, in both Asaba, Delta State, and Lagos, Nigeria, will focus on the theme of sustainability through good governance and community development.

The event promises to be a significant gathering, with distinguished speakers and awardees from Nigeria, the United States, and the United Kingdom who have demonstrated exceptional excellence across various industries. The theme for this year’s conference is “Trailblazers of Change: Celebrating Visionaries and Pioneers of Progress and Human Development.”

In a press release, Prof. Maurice Odiete, President of HGU, highlighted that the conference will explore the vital role of good governance and community development in fostering societal progress. “We will celebrate these trailblazers of change and discuss how they are driving human development and sustainable progress,” the statement reads.

The African Vice Chancellor of HGU, Prof. Valentine Iheukwumere, also elaborated on the university’s mission to contribute to educational development through collaborations with affiliate colleges and universities. “HGU aims to cultivate impactful learning that is inclusive and accessible, helping students develop solutions to the challenges facing society,” he said.

Some of the individuals to be honoured during the event include Lon Mahan from Texas, Captain Warredi Enisuoh, Executive Director of Operations and Technical at Tantita Security Services, Dr. Toyin O. Agbolayah, Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Community Development, Prince Mudiaga Eruophe, Engr. Michael Uzochukwu Okaekwu, and Mrs. Ogochuku Okekpolo, UN Eminent Ambassador and Global Gender Priority Strategist.

The conference is expected to provide an enriching platform for thought leaders, policymakers, and innovators to discuss and share ideas on governance, sustainability, and human development.
