President Tinubu Approves Swap of Pro-Chancellors at Two Federal Universities

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has authorized the immediate reshuffling of pro-chancellors and chairmen of the governing councils at two federal universities in Oye-Ekiti (Ekiti State) and Lokoja (Kogi State).

A statement issued yesterday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced that Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, formerly the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University in Lokoja, will now serve in the same capacity at Federal University in Oye-Ekiti. Meanwhile, Engineer Kayode Ojo, who previously held the position at Oye-Ekiti, has been reassigned to Lokoja.

This move, according to the statement, is part of President Tinubu’s broader strategy to encourage diversity and foster national cohesion in the management of Nigeria’s federal universities. The leadership changes aim to promote collaborative growth and strengthen governance at these institutions as part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance the higher education sector.
