Prof. Armaya’u Bichi, Vice-Chancellor of FUDMA, announced the honors during a pre-convocation press briefing. He highlighted Tinubu’s significant contributions, including her efforts in facilitating the release of kidnapped female students from the university, as well as providing them with cash and scholarships post-release.

In addition to Tinubu, the Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, will be awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Science, acknowledging his exemplary leadership and contributions to the university’s development. Former Governor of Sokoto State, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, will also be honored for his role in enhancing security at the institution. Meanwhile, Alhaji Kabir Abubakar, a member of the House of Representatives, will be recognized for his support in building two faculties, two hostels, and two lecture theaters for FUDMA.

Bichi also announced that a female hostel with a 36-bed capacity, constructed using the university’s internally generated revenue, will be named after the First Lady. Additionally, a faculty building will be named after Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda.
