Epe, Lagos — Billionaire businessman and philanthropist Femi Otedola has made a significant donation of N3.7 billion for the construction of phase 2 of the engineering faculty building at Augustine University in Epe, Lagos. This project is expected to be completed within 12 months.
Otedola, who serves as the chancellor of the Catholic university, announced the donation during the university’s 6th convocation ceremony, which was attended by notable dignitaries, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and various religious and academic leaders.
In his address, Otedola praised the university’s dedication to academic and character development among its graduating class. He emphasized the importance of the institution’s commitment to excellence and its vision of fostering both intellectual and moral growth, as reflected in its motto.
He urged the new graduates to embody technical proficiency and ethical leadership as they step into their futures. Otedola also expressed gratitude to the university’s leadership, faculty, and staff for their efforts in shaping the graduates.
The N3.7 billion donation follows Otedola’s previous funding for phase 1 of the engineering faculty building, and he envisions that the new phase will significantly enhance the university’s capacity to train future engineers.
