Upbeat Centre, Nigeria’s leading trampoline and recreation park, held a successful Children’s Fun Day as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The event, organized in collaboration with the One African Child Foundation, brought together children from underserved communities for a day of fun, fitness, and education.
The Children’s Fun Day aimed to go beyond entertainment, using Upbeat’s upcoming comic series, The Hoppa, as the basis for integrating life lessons into the day’s activities. The Hoppa series emphasizes core values such as teamwork, health, fitness, and self-confidence, making the event both enjoyable and educational for the children.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Upbeat Centre’s Operations Manager, Babatunde Akingbola, highlighted its success. “This Fun Day was about more than just having fun. We wanted to give these children an opportunity to learn important life skills, drawing from The Hoppa curriculum. Our partnership with the One African Child Foundation made this possible, and we’re thrilled with the positive impact it’s had.”
The day featured a variety of physical activities, including trampoline jumping, relay races, and wall climbing, all aligned with The Hoppa’s focus on physical fitness and resilience. The activities encouraged teamwork and promoted a healthy, active lifestyle, while also fostering confidence and determination among the children.
Interactive workshops complemented the physical activities, focusing on topics like the dangers of screen addiction and the importance of nutrition and exercise. These sessions, rooted in The Hoppa’s Wellbeing & Safety and Food & Nutrition themes, provided the children with practical tips on maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Upbeat Centre’s commitment to promoting health and well-being among children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, was evident throughout the event. By organizing initiatives like the Children’s Fun Day, Upbeat Centre also reinforces its dedication to Sustainable Development Goal 3, which seeks to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for people of all ages.
As the leading trampoline and recreation park in West Africa, Upbeat Centre remains committed to offering high-quality experiences that encourage active lifestyles. With a focus on community engagement, safety, and inclusivity, the Centre continues to create opportunities for families, schools, and organizations to come together and thrive.
For the children who attended, the Fun Day was not only a chance to play but an opportunity to learn valuable life lessons that will help them grow and succeed in the future.
