The scholarship provides up to $60,000 in funding to help cover educational expenses for top international students applying to the university’s undergraduate programs.

The scholarship is available to both first-year and transfer international students, with no separate application process required. Applicants who submit their applications for admission by the November 15, 2024, deadline will be automatically considered.

The Global Excellence Scholarship is highly competitive and awarded based on academic merit. International students seeking admission to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ undergraduate programs are eligible for consideration.   • Enroll in the university’s Honors program.

  • Meet the University of Minnesota’s minimum English language proficiency requirements through tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson Test of Academic English, Cambridge Assessment English, or Duolingo.

Upon submission of their application, they will automatically be considered for the scholarship, with no additional application required. Applicants must maintain F-1 immigration status to remain eligible.
