Ilorin — The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially recognized the establishment of Kwara State University of Education, Ilorin. The license was received by Deputy Governor Kayode Afolabi on behalf of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
In a statement, Acting Executive Secretary of NUC, Mr. Chris Maiyaki, announced that with this new approval, Nigeria now boasts a total of 274 universities, including 64 state-owned and 148 private institutions.
The recognition came after the Kwara State delegation submitted the necessary strategic documents for the university’s establishment. These documents include the law passed by the Kwara State House of Assembly that officially establishes the institution, as well as the Academic Brief and Physical Master Plan.
The formal presentation of the recognition letter marked a significant milestone for the state’s educational landscape.
