The School of Health Information Management, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile Ife (SHIM, OAUTHC), has initiated the sale of application forms for its National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. This announcement is aimed at informing prospective students about the commencement of the application process, which is now accessible online.
Admission Sales & Eligibility:
Prospective applicants are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity, especially those who have participated in the 2024 UTME examination and have achieved commendable scores in five O’level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, and Chemistry, across a maximum of two sittings.
ND aspirants must note that final selection will adhere to the JAMB-UTME approved cut-off marks for Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education for the 2024/2025 academic session. Further information regarding these cut-off marks can be found on JAMB’s official website.
Additionally, graduates from SHIM, OAUTHC will have the privilege and responsibility to serve in the National Youth Service Corps Scheme (NYSC).
Detailed Entry Qualifications:
ND Admission:
Candidates must possess five credits in WASC/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry/Physics, and another subject like Geography, Economics, or Civic Education.
Applicants who selected SHIM OAUTHC, Ile-Ife during the 2024 JAMB application are pre-qualified, and those wishing to change their initial institution to SHIM, OAUTHC, Ile-Ife after the 2024 JAMB EXAMINATION are equally eligible.
HND Programme:
Candidates must hold an ND Certificate in Health Information Management with at least a Lower Credit grade.
Proof of completion of a mandatory year of Industrial Attachment from a recognized health establishment or possession of a technician/professional diploma certificate from a reputable school of health technology.
Admission Selection Process:
Selection will be based on academic performance, as well as performance in written tests and oral interviews. ND applicants will be evaluated in English Language, Mathematics, and General Paper, while HND hopefuls will be assessed in English Language, relevant Professional Courses, and General Paper.
Application Procedure:
The application fee is N2,000.00 for ND and N8,000.00 for HND, payable through REMITA to OAUTHC, Ile-Ife.
Completed application forms should be returned to SHIM, OAUTHC by Tuesday, 27th August 2024.
Applicants should note the Post-JAMB exam and/or oral interview scheduled between Wednesday, 28th and Thursday, 29th August 2024, starting at 9:00 am in the school’s premises.
