HENSARD UNIVERSITY APPOINTS RENOWNED PROFESSOR DILEEP KUMAR AS PIONEER VICE CHANCELLOR

In a significant development, Hensard University, situated in Toru-Orua, Bayelsa State, has announced the appointment of Professor Dileep Kumar as its pioneer Vice Chancellor (VC). Professor Kumar, a distinguished scholar specializing in Strategy and Organisational Behaviour, brings a wealth of international experience and expertise to this pivotal role.

Prof. Kumar’s illustrious career spans over two decades, during which he has taught various subjects including Strategic Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Human Resource Management, Consumer Behaviour, Behavioural Sciences, Organisational Behaviour, and Research Methods. His teaching journey has taken him across the globe, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Georgia, South Africa, UAE, Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Ukraine, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, and India.

Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, Chairman of the Henry Seriake Foundation, which established Hensard University, expressed confidence in Professor Kumar’s appointment, stating, “Hensard University finds in Professor Kumar an internationally reputed scholar, teacher, researcher, and mentor, whose works align with Hensard’s unique approaches to higher education.”

In response to his appointment, Professor Kumar affirmed his commitment to leading Hensard University in a transformative direction. He emphasized the institution’s dedication to seeking new frontiers of knowledge and addressing global challenges. Additionally, he highlighted the university’s research centers, institutes, international linkages, dual certifications, and the collective dedication of the staff as essential components contributing to the “Hensard advantage.”

Professor Kumar previously served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences at Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja. He is a prolific author with eight books and three monographs, along with over 170 high-impact publications, including ISI and Scopus citations, patents, and copyrights.

Furthermore, Hensard University appointed Professor Prekeyi Tawari-Fufeyin as the Deputy Vice Chancellor. Professor Tawari-Fufeyin is recognized for her results-oriented approach in environmental management, pollution studies, environmental toxicology, community development, and partnerships. She brings a wealth of experience, having served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun.

The university also welcomed Mrs. Evelyn Umukoro as the Registrar, a seasoned university administrator with 21 years of experience at the University of Benin. Mrs. Umukoro, a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) and the Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA), is dedicated to promoting quality academic product delivery.

These appointments mark a significant milestone for Hensard University, signaling a new era of academic excellence under the leadership of Professor Dileep Kumar and his esteemed colleagues.
